The 2019/20 Premier League campaign saw Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC charge relentlessly towards their first title in 30 years. Whether leading by 25 points, winning 24 consecutive games at home, or putting together a 44-match Premier League unbeaten run, LFC fans around the world were in dreamland throughout a season defined by momentum, teamwork and success.
All those brilliant memories are captured in the TRI-08 Premier League Champions Edition Automatic. Available with a choice of two dials – cream or red – this is a watch that places the Liverpool FC crest centre stage; it’s been boldly embossed into a commemorative subdial at 6 o’clock. Meanwhile, turn the watch over and you’ll find the most striking image embossed into its backplate: the iconic crest surrounded by the words LFC fans have long waited to see: ‘Champions 2019-2020’.
This watch may celebrate a landmark moment in the history of Liverpool FC, but it’s been engineered in Switzerland to last just as long as the memories of this unforgettable season. Inside its polished and brushed stainless steel case, the Swiss-made Sellita SW200 is a self-winding movement renowned for its dependability and timekeeping. With an anti-shock system and 150 metre water resistance, the TRI-08 is also designed to survive those manic last-minute goal celebrations on the Kop!
This watch pits 2 of my passions together, my love of Liverpool FC and that of watches. To be honest, when I heard about the partnership, and having never heard of Tribus before, I was hesitant to get this watch, not helped by the fact that when this watch came out in 2020, there were little or no watch reviews on any Tribus watch, at least that I was aware of. Now, as of May 2021, we see some reviews online and that they are positive. We now also know about the brand's link to British watchmaking royalty in Christopher Ward. After having had the watch and having worn it for a week, I can say that I am glad with my purchase. Firstly, timekeeping, although specked at +/- 20 seconds per day, mine operated at +6 spd for the week, which is very good and within COSC Chronometer specifications (most if not all Rolex watches are COSC certified). Legibility is good but the lume was weak. The gold pvd is well done, I wore the watch for a whole week, including sleeping with it, and have had a few scraps, but the gold pvd has held up. Same with the Sapphire crystal, always a good indicator of a quality watch, I scrapped the crystal on the edge of a wall, I pity the wall, some of the paint and concrete got scrapped off, the watch crystal - impeccable. For those who like swapping bracelets and straps around, I must say that I initially found it very difficult to remove the bracelet, but there is a trick to it, you have to be pulling the bracelet outwards and away from the watch case (as opposed to sideways) as you depress the springs, the bracelet then comes off easily. Value for money: at half price clearance, it's a bargain. You get a self-winding, sapphire crystal watch with the possibility to perform at COSC levels and it's an official Liverpool FC watch, commemorating their first Premier League title and first league title in 30 years. If you're a fan and can afford it, stop reading this and buy one already!
Very nice looking time piece. Just the right size and the LFC logo is large enough to be seen but not over the top big where it takes over the watch. I’m impressed by the overall movement and build quality as well. Liked this one so much I purchased a second Tribus watch within a month. A friend saw it and ordered one the next day.
I get that I ordered the TRI-08 purely based on the LFC connection. But this turned out to be a great watch. Love the minimal yet stylish design of the watch. No bezel and the domed sapphire wears like a lot larger watch than 41mm, while still fitting on my scrawny wrist. Great watch. First Tribus watch but likely won't be the last. YNWA!
