TRI-02 – GMT 3 Timezone COSC – Steel/Black/Rubber
(£647.51 VAT incl.)
Unconventional. Dedicated. Unapologetic.
Engineered from 316L stainless steel in Switzerland, this case features a stainless steel finish and twin screw-down crowns. A watch built for travel, it has a water resistance of 15ATM.
Modern retro visuals meet a bold black and yellow colour scheme. Equipped with a 24-hour chapter ring and internal bezel, this chronometer allows you to read three timezones simultaneously.
Every detail matters. Engineered on both the top and underside, our double domed sapphire crystal offers absolute clarity of the dial from all angles. Its signature convex shape pays homage to the dress watches of the ‘40s and ‘50s – our modern take on retro design.
An exhibition caseback displays the precision engineering within. Because if you've got a Swiss-made automatic movement inside your watch, flaunt it.
As a watch with GMT capabilities, skeletonised hands complement the aviation theme. Wherever in the world your adventure takes you, you’ll always be on time.
A movement that powers a fourth GMT hand around the dial, the Sellita SW330 is one of the most popular dual-time movements available today. It’s been chronometer-certified by COSC, giving it a world-class daily accuracy rate of +99.994%.
Each TRIBUS arrives with a COSC certificate in its own luxury presentation box, piano finished with a push button for easy access. An accompanying warranty card allows you to register your watch and view your online instruction manual. We believe you don’t need to hack down half the Amazon for a physical manual when you can easily download one.
The original GMT watches emerged during the 1950s, part of a jet-setting era that opened a whole new world of exotic destinations. The GMT 3 Timezone COSC is born of the spirit of that time, with a modern-retro aesthetic influenced by vintage aviation watches. Distinctive looks and vivid yellow detailing are all enhancements to a classic.
The TRI-02’s case is crafted from stainless steel in Switzerland, its sleek shape a striking example of the nation’s engineering capabilities. Yet it’s what you’ll see through its exhibition caseback that makes this watch possible. A Sellita SW330 movement powers a fourth GMT hand, read against an inner 24-hour ring so its user can track a second timezone; an outer 24-hour bezel can be adjusted by the TRI-02’s upper crown to set and follow a third.
Each SW330 movement found inside the TRI-02 has also has also passed through the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, having been tested in a variety of positions and temperatures to guarantee optimum performance throughout. The result: guaranteed accuracy within -4/+6 seconds per day, placing the TRI-02 in the top 6% for all Swiss-made watches.
A decent watch if acquired during the 70% off sale; however, as others mentioned, not without some asinine design choices. Using yellow for the nighttime portion of GMT rehaut, while using black for the daytime? No lume (I mean really…didn’t Chris Ward’s sons learn nothing from all the gripes about dad’s earlier watches and their poor lume?)? No date? Barely keeps chronometer spec while on the wrist (approximately -4 sec/day) and DEFINITELY out of chronometer spec when not being worn (appropriately -10 sec/day). Otherwise, a nicely finished and attractively executed watch that feels good on the wrist.
I have to be honest, I was not at all convinced by this watch from the pictures on the website - it just didn't 'speak to me' - however I came across several user photographs of it on various different straps (including some nice natos) and I became utterly convinced so placed an order. In person the watch is beautiful - the yellows are more muted and less 'poppy' than they appear in many photographs (a good thing!) giving it a lovely vintage look, which is further emphasised by the lovely domed sapphire crystal which distorts beautifully around the edges and plays with the light. The case is lovely - it provides a fantastic fit and seems finished to a high quality (I'll come back to the crown later though...). The rubber strap is also excellent - a nice thickness, very comfortable and nicely patterned on both sides with *that* lovely Tribus buckle! I'm not the biggest fan of the leather strap on my other Tribus watch but would happily recommend their rubber one! Accuracy wise my watch has been incredible so far (worn every second day for about 2 weeks and only lost a couple of seconds!). I have to give it 4 stars though for a couple of reasons - firstly, there is no lume on this watch, and of all of Tribus's models this one really looks like it's been designed to have some, so its absence is apparent and missed (in it's defence though, of both my Tribus watches this is by far the easiest to read, even in low light!) Secondly, the main crown on mine is a bit rough to unscrew - this seems to be improving with time, so possibly just a question of finishing? Overall though I'm incredibly happy with my purchase and I'll be keeping an eye on Tribus moving forward!
Very pleasantly surprised with this watch. Nice level of finishing, eye catching color combination, accuracy has been -1 over 48 hours. Two suggestions, would prefer solid caseback and lumed hands.
I was very keen to acquire a Tribus Watches when the brand was first launched. However, the TRI 02 was the only watch in the range that appealed to me and I felt the pricing point was too high so lost interest.
In addition I found some of the brand marketing and "partnership" watches really devalued the brand in my eyes. So without the incentive of the 70% discount I doubt a Tribus would have been added to my watch collection.
On receipt of the watch I was not super impressed and had the lingering feeling that the 70% discount just made it the right price not a bargain.
Bad bits, crown feels wobbly and case finishing is nothing to write home about and the bit I find most weird no lume !!!!!
Good bits, movement is very accurate, dial attractive but also very legible and the rubber strap has become very comfortable.
It is one of those watches that seems to fit all occasions and aside for the lack of lume (that drives me nuts) I am sure it will get a large amount of wrist time.
Please note. Shown here on a third party strap
Beautiful watch. Keeping excellent time so far and well within COSC specifications.
Case finishing is exemplary and I love the gun metal finish. The colour is akin to titanium and adds some real class. Also customer service is top notch with any enquiries answered within the hour, even on a Sunday.
